Roof doors

Roof doors provide a safe means of egress to the roof. The safest way to the roof is through the building, where the stairs or driveway can be used. When using the roof door, the last few metres can be made using a fixed staircase, a scissor ladder or a safety ladder.

Floor doors

Floor openings are supplied with a continuous hinge or with a removable cover. Floor openings can be supplied as solid openings or in other configurations if required.

The lids are made of drop-formed sheet. Covers for tiling and flooring are manufactured from flat aluminium sheet. Depending on the dimensions, one or two covers may be required. The floor openings are supplied complete with cover and the frame for the concrete. The frame is equipped with fold-out anchors or with a through-anchor integrated in the frame.

Features of solid floor doors with hinges:

Suitable for both internal and external use

Aluminium models are suitable for both internal and external use. The U-shaped frame can be fitted with a 40 mm PVC duct connection.

Combination with ladder or fixed staircase

Depending on the size and application, openings with strips and solid cover can be combined with a fixed vertical ladder, a single ladder or a fixed staircase. In some cases, it is also possible to use a ladder with a scissor structure.

Secure and user-friendly

•     The opening cover can be operated with one hand, regardless of its size and weight.
•     The counterweight system assists opening and resetting.
•     From a passage length of 1000 mm, a hand grip fixed to the inside of the lid offers a secure hold for loading and unloading.
•     Non-slip lid made of drip-formed plate with a lifting handle recessed into the lid.

Load capacity of solid floor openings with tapes

Load capacity meets the most stringent requirements of EN1991-1-3:2003 and AS1170-1. Calculations are based on safety class 3.

The reinforcements of the cover act as supports at the two support points. Application is not recommended in predominantly dynamic loading situations.

WA-E-AL can be ordered separately with the load capacity specified by the customer.

Wall and ceiling doors

Wall and ceiling doors are basically installation openings for servicing and maintenance of cable ducts, water and sewage pipes:

They are made of primed painted steel.

On request, these doors can also be made of stainless steel.

Lock: all doors are bayonet locked.

•     Fire-resistance indicators for fire-resistant wall and ceiling doors are given below:
  •         Metal stud walls: EW-60 and R-90
  •         Metal-clad walls: EW-90 and R120
  •         Ceilings/roofs: EW-120 and R-180
